- β cup Parmesan (shredded, at room temperature)
- 1lb ham(cooked)

Step-by-step instructions
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions.Trim hard ends off the asparagus and slice into **1.5 or 2-inch pieces**. During the last **3 minutes** of cooking the pasta, add the asparagus to the same pot of boiling water. Drain both and rinse well under running cold water. Set aside.
Heat **1 tablespoon** of olive oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about **30 seconds**, stirring constantly.Add **1 cup** heavy cream, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, and **ΒΌ teaspoon** salt. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Sprinkle room-temperature shredded Parmesan evenly across the surface (don't dump in one spot). Stir for **30 seconds** or until melted on low-medium heat.
Dice cooked ham into **Β½ inch cubes**. Add ham, cooked/drained pasta, and asparagus to the sauce. Mix well.Taste and season with more salt and red pepper flakes if needed. Top with fresh thyme leaves and extra Parmesan if desired.
